While the smaller 12-inch size commonly delivers a bright & sharp sound, making the shell deeper significantly increases its tonal range. The Mod Bubinga features a 7-inch depth, adding a distinctively dynamic tone to the smaller shell that may have otherwise been unachievable. Made of Bubinga, a naturally low, rich & resonant wood, the 7 x 12-inch snare maintains significant body with solid crack. Additionally, the snare is fitted with TAMAs Sound Arc hoops that deliver a crisp, clear attack and allow the snare to resonate naturally and openly with distinct definition.

Boasting a wide tuning range, the Mod Bubinga responds naturally & sensitively to each hit while still capturing every intricate detail, even at lower tunings. The HD Dry is an thick double-ply head with a built-in ring mute that delivers a tight and fat sound, emphasizing the dark & rich tone of the Bubinga.

Sound Arc Hoop (6 hole)

Sound Arc Hoops solidly control the moderate harmonics, which enhancing the thick attack of the Bubinga shell.

20-strand Starclassic Carbon Steel Snare Wire

Starclassic snares offer several unique, highly useful features. When adding more tension to the wires, the strands press closer to the snare head. Tama has also redesigned the angle of the end plates and added thinner straps to obtain optimum response.
