Many years ago, Eastwood Guitars made a Vox Phantom tribute guitar titled the “VG6”. It’s hard enough to find a VG6 for sale as it is, but being that this exact guitar was used in the 2007 biographical feature film “Control”, it’s one of a kind!
Blink and you’ll miss it, but in the films scenes where you might expect Ian Curtis (played by Sam Riley) to be playing his Vox Phantom, look closelyyoull spot the Eastwood logo on the headstock instead. The guitar was loaned to the production by Eastwood Guitars and then returned once filming wrapped.
Since then, it’s been tucked away in the pictured display case, which will come included with the guitar, original DVD, and framed image from the film.
The 2007 film “Control” is an award-winning biographical film by Anton Corbijn about the life of Ian Curtis, singer of the late-1970s Englishpost-punkbandJoy Division.
