For over 40 years, Jackson has been the guitar of choice for the world’s most legendary metal shredders and hard rockers. The Pro Origins 1985 Series pays tribute to Jackson’s iconic history by bringing back the San Dimas style that defined a generation of boundary-pushing guitar gods.
Built in Ensenada, these guitars feature pickups developed using the original recipe from Jackson’s early days in Southern California, delivering authentic tone that helped establish Jackson as a force in the metal scene. The resonant alder body balances warmth and punch, while the maple neck is artfully tinted to capture the amber glow of aged wood. The speed-optimized neck profile ensures fingers fly across the fretboard with devastating velocity.
From 12″-16″ compound radius maple fingerboards with large dot inlays to top-mounted Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolos, these new/old classics are loaded with features that true metalheads crave. Play it loud, play it proud, and reconnect with the rich heritage of a true industry pioneer.

One of the most popular Jackson pickups from the early days of the Jackson Custom Shop was brought back with to life in this new series. With ceramic magnets in the J-90C and alnico V magnets in the J-50N the sonic capabilities of these pickup is as good today as it was almost 40 years ago. The low end is tight and responsive and the pick attack cuts through mix like a hot knife through butter!
Top-mounted Floyd Rose 1000 Series double locking tremolo
Unleash your inner shredder with the top-mounted Floyd Rose 1000! This beast gives you ultimate dive bomb capability for face-melting solos. The double-locking design keeps your axe in tune through relentless trem abuse. Shred and wail all night long without going out of tune.
12″-16″ Compound Radius Fingerboard
Jackson pioneered the use of the innovative 12″-16″ compound radius design, in which the fingerboard gradually flattens toward the heel from its more rounded profile at the nut. This makes for comfortable and natural-feeling chording and riffing near the nut, with optimal shred articulation and bending nearer the heel.
