Ibanez PIA3761 Steve Vai Signature Electric Guitar – Stallion White
The PIA3761 is a PIA series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez. It is a signature model of American guitarist Steve Vai. It is produced in Japan by FujiGen.
This guitar represents a departure from the JEM series, which has been Vai’s series of signature six string guitars since its debut in 1987. The PIA (Paradise in Art) continues to use a super-Strat RG style body and the Lion’s claw tremolo rout that has always been a feature of the JEM, but it eschews the JEM’s monkey grip in favor of a different cutout pattern on the body. Other changes to the body include a deeper rout on the back of the lower horn, more aggressive forearm relief and slightly larger radius roundover on all the edges. Additionally the Tree of Life inlays have been altered somewhat and renamed the PIA blossom. The name of the new series is believed to be inspired by Vai’s wife, Pia.
The PIA3761 features an alder body bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl and abalone PIA blossom vine inlays and Luminlay side dots. As with the previous JEM7V, the last four frets are scalloped. Components include new DiMarzio UtoPIA pickups with a pair of humbuckers with decorative covers flanking a single-coil, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge with an UltraLite arm, an angled output jack, Gotoh tuning machines and a magnetic tremolo cavity plate.
