The Les Paul Classic Premium Plus was produced alongside theoriginal Les Paul Classic, but features a maple top instead of a plain maple top. Production began in 1993, and continued with some interruption, but no change in specifications, through 2001. All models feature AAA flame maple tops and 496T/500R uncovered humbuckers. 1997 models were also available with birdseye maple tops.
