This is a 1983 Jackson Randy Rhoads model in black – it’s not just any Rhoads model, this one is quite significant in Jacksons history as it is serial number RR0030, which is the very first Rhoads to be built with a Floyd Rose tremolo. The Rhoads built previously all had tune-o-matic bridges, or at the least Kahler tremolos. It took the Jackson factory some finessing to get the Rhoads shape to cooperate with a Floyd unit, as stated in the included paperwork where a previous owner had communication with the folks at Jackson in order to hunt this early information down!

The guitar is in fair cosmetic condition but plays extremely well. It has a slim neck as you’d expect, and setup nicely with a tightness to the strings that’s perfect for palm muting and precision lead work. The guitar has the original neck pickup, however the bridge pickup was no longer functional and was replaced with a modern Seymour Duncan Antiquity JB humbucker. The original pickup is included in the case. The guitar includes the aforementioned paperwork as well as an early Polaroid of the guitar and a Dutch guitar magazine.
