This clean 1957 Fender Champ guitar amplifier with 5F1 circuit and 6″ Oxford 6EV speaker is a nicely preserved example. It retains all its original parts except for likely a replaced 12AX7 preamp tube with a Mullard branded tube. It’s a fine sounding guitar amplifier the thick cleans and crunchy growl.
Make and Model: Fender Champ-Amp, 5F1 circuit
Year:1957. Tube chart code “GE” indicating May of 1957. Check out my blog post on How To Date A Vintage Fender Guitar Amplifier.
Specifications:One 12AX7 preamp tube, one 6V6 power tube, one 5Y3 rectifier tube. Early 1957 with 6″ Oxford 6EV speaker.
Condition:Very good! The tweed shows light wear with scuffs and some staining. The faceplate shows light corrosion.
Cleaning Process:I fully disassembled the amp and vacuumed everything. I cleaned the potentiometers, cleaned the jacks, and cleaned and tensioned the tube sockets.
