2023 Collings 002H

The Collings 002H is part of the companys 2-style range, drawing inspiration from early 20th century American flat top designs while benefiting from modern precision and build quality. Based on the traditional 00 body shape, originally popularised in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the 002H follows a 12 fret configuration with a slotted headstock and compact proportions similar to a classical guitar. Collings interpretation combines vintage aesthetics with a highly refined, articulate tonal response suited to a wide range of playing styles.

This 2023 Collings 002H is a superb example, constructed with East Indian rosewood back and sides paired with a spruce top. Appointments include ivoroid body binding with a matching wedge, herringbone top purfling, a zipper backstrip, and a more intricate 2-style rosette, along with diamonds and squares fingerboard inlays. The guitar retains the small pyramid bridge and wider neck profile typical of this configuration, offering a comfortable playing experience and a balanced, responsive tone with excellent clarity and note separation.

The instrument is in excellent condition, remaining entirely original and free from any structural repairs. A K&K passive pickup has been professionally fitted, allowing for straightforward amplification while preserving the guitars natural acoustic character. This guitar includes its original case.
