The Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto

Easily one of China’s most famous modern works Butterfly Lovers Concerto was written as a project by He Zhan-hao and Chen Gang while studying music at the Shanghai Conservatory in 1959. An orchestral adaptation of an ancient legend, the Butterfly Lovers, it’s written for a western style orchestra, featuring a violin played using some Chinese techniques. This edition includes a piano accompaniment. Grade 8 level.
