This is a rare bird! Here we have a 2017 Gibson Custom Shop Slash Firebird, this one in the aged transparent black finish over a maple capped neck-through mahogany body, – only 25 were made! When designing the guitar, Slash wanted lots of familiar Les Paul elements on his Firebird including humbuckers, historic Les Paul wiring and pickup spacing, and the aforementioned maple cap. Per Slash’s request, the Custom Shop hand-aged these with vintage-accurate checking and wear to the thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The aging is all original and this piece includes the original case with certificate of authenticity!
