FEATURES

Stunning Aesthetics, Inspiring Old-School Tone

This model’s top-tier tonewoods and striking visual details elevate the Gold Label Collection to new heights.

Super Auditorium Body: Building on the versatility, balance and clarity that players have come to love from Bob Taylors Grand Auditorium body shape, consider the Super Auditorium an evolution of that playing experience that incorporates all the benefits of the V-Class bracing architecture developed by Andy Powers. With curves and contours that draw on Bobs design but with a slightly longer body and wider lower bout, the Super Auditorium will feel familiar while adding a new sonic dimension inspired by guitars from the 1930s and 40s. With a focus on warmth, the Super Auditorium produces an open, blooming voice that produces room-filling tone with a light touch while gaining power as you dig in. Inside, a fanned V-Class variant enhances the depth and resonance, enhancing the volume and sustain while ensuring pitch accuracy all the way up the neck.

Super Auditorium Body Specifications: Body Length: 20 3/16″ / Body Width: 16 1/4″ / Body Depth: 4 1/2″

Honduran Rosewood Body Wood: Extremely dense compared to other rosewood species, Honduran rosewood sings with a uniquely smooth voice that makes it worthy of Taylor’s finest guitars.

Origin: Honduras

Sound: Honduran rosewood has rich heritage in the world of acoustic instruments, highly valued as the wood of choice for marimba bars and now an ingredient in some of Taylors finest guitars.

Considerably denser than Indian rosewood, Honduran rosewood has an extremely low damping factor, which contributes to a supremely textured, harmonically complex tone. Youll hear the warm low end and sparkling, chime-like trebles that youd expect from other rosewood species, along with a smoothness that stands out from other hardwoods. Overtones are lush and bloom out as notes sustain while maintaining enough clarity to ensure you can cut to the front of a mix when needed.

Goes Well With: A wide range of playing styles and genres, from Americana to blues to fingerpicking applications and beyond. Pairs especially well with a sinker redwood top, which adds midrange heft and even greater warmth.

Adirondack Spruce Top Wood: Also known as Eastern red or Appalachian spruce, Adirondack defined guitars of the pre-WWII era. Its availability is beginning to increase slightly, as another generation of trees matures, although theyre still considerably smaller than their old growth forebears. Current supplies of Adirondack tend to lack a certain aesthetic purity of look (they tend to be wider-grained and more irregular in color and grain patterns), but tonally, Adirondack is even more dynamic than Sitka, with a higher ceiling for volume. The payoff is the ability to drive an Addie top hard and hear it get louder and louder without losing clarity; its hard to outplay it.

Another sonic nuance that Bob Taylor loves about Adirondack is “an undeniable sweetness in every note, especially in the mids.”

Origin: Canada

Goes Well With: Aggressive flatpickers or strummers. It would be a great fit for a GS or Dreadnought.

LR Baggs – Element VTC: Taylor introduced the LR Baggs Element VTC acoustic pickup to Taylor’s lineup with the Legacy and Gold Label collections, a choice that reflects the old-heritage sound and classic design inspiration of those guitars.

An undersaddle pickup similar to Taylors proprietary ES2 electronics, the Element system utilizes an ultra-thin sensor that minimizes the effect of string pressure and vibration on its tonal output, instead detecting sound from the movement of the guitars top. This results in a clear, warm voice that channels exceptional detail while dialing down the treble-range edge that players often associate with acoustic electronics.

VTCVolume, Tone, Compressionrefers to a studio-standard method of mixing acoustic sound that delivers remarkable warmth, balance and accuracy, mirroring the subtle changes in dynamics that give each player their signature sound. The Element VTC pickup boasts an onboard low-frequency compressor tuned specifically to the natural texture of acoustic guitar tone.

The Element VTC pickup features volume and tone controls tucked neatly under the top edge of the soundhole, making them nearly invisible to audiencesan ideal placement for musicians who prefer to preserve the traditional look of all-acoustic guitars. It is powered by a traditional 9-volt battery and includes an input jack mounted within the guitars end pin.

LR Baggs Element VTC pickups are manufactured in California.
