1984 Goodall RJ-208 12-String Acoustic Guitar – Used

This is an early guitar by James Goodall, made about a dozen years after he started building instruments. It’s obvious he learned quickly, and we’ve seen other Goodall guitars from this period that have seen lots of use and have held up well, like this one. Building a 12-string requires more than just building a 6-string with more top bracing and a wider fingerboard, and it’s clear James had already figured this out. For example, this rosewood jumbo has the bass response to balance all those extra treble strings, and when strummed you can get the chorus-like effect that adds an extra dimension. Thanks to an LR Baggs Anthem pickup it’s easy to amplify.
The playing wear to the top is obvious, but while it got played a lot it apparently never saw rough handling or damage and shows no signs of cracks or repairs. The finish is original throughout, and the back, sides, and neck show only minor small dings. It’s been refretted so plays well.
