Up for sale, a 2023 Gibson Hummingbird Original in mint condition, complete with the hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. Dealer sourced and never privately owned, this Original Series Hummingbird was crafted at Gibsons Bozeman, MT factory, designed to pair vintage appointments and modern build quality with features including a Sitka spruce top with traditional hand-scalloped bracing, mahogany back/sides, gold Kluson-style tuners, double antiqued binding, bone nut/saddle, a gloss Antique Natural nitro lacquer finish, and an LR Baggs Element VTC undersaddle pickup.
In many ways the Hummingbird was Gibson’s answer to Martin’s D-18, yet this dreadnought offers a tone that is distinctly Gibson. Warm, punchy and powerful, this Hummingbird has tons of projection and kick in the bass register. The midrange yields a smooth growl and sweetness, and the trebles are round and sparkling. Weighing 4lbs 5oz, this Hummingbird Original has been dialed in beyond the factory setup here at Mike & Mikes Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.
