This model is based on the 80s Epiphone Riviera that is near and dear to Noel Gallagher, and has been a staple for his sound with his legendary band Oasis.
Epiphone was granted access to the artist’s original collection, thus allowing them to incorporate various historical elements into this new model. The color and finish closely resemble those of the original guitar from that era, while the Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO pickups ensure a sound that perfectly complements its appearance. With a SlimTaper neck and a volute, this guitar boasts a professional design. It’s super comfortable to play. Other details, including the historically accurate “E” appointments on the pickguard and truss rod cover and a vintage-style brown sound hole label, add to its classic charm.
The Alnico Classic Pro humbuckers are designed to emulate the late-1950s PAF sound and feel. They provide a solid foundation with a lively top end and balanced low end that can occasionally be slightly muffled, a common characteristic of PAF-style pickups. Like most PAFs, the Alnico Classic Pro pickups lower some midrange presence, but still deliver a pleasing output with a touch of growl.
