From this major banjo manufacturer and promoter of the late 1800s, this fancier-than-most No. 2 Stewart banjo is a fine example of the parlor banjos of the time which helped spur on the rise of classic banjo playing, with S.S. Stewarts promotional efforts. Made in Philadelphia, features include a cherry neck with carved heel, dowel stick stamped “S.S.S. / TRADE MARK, and “S.S. STEWART / PHIL’A PA.” stamped in the dowel stick and printed on celluloid tag, ~11″ Elite (Renaissance) head on metal clad rim. With electric guitar gigbag.
