The JH Set is a totally new dimension for EMG, the design being driven solely with the input of James Hetfield. After playing the 81/60 EMG combo for many years now James wanted something not only “new” sounding, he wanted a set that also looked totally new. The neck pickup uses individual poles and bobbins with an enlarged core that gives it a more percussive attack, higher output and a fuller low-end response making it clean and fat with a fast attack.
