The Fender Custom Shop NAMM Limited 1962 Stratocaster Heavy Relic Electric Guitar’s body is a lightweight two-piece select alder finished in Heavy Relic nitro-lacquer, aged with finish checking, dings and dents from the bridge to the headstock to replicate long-term play and road wear. That relicing exposes a lived-in look while preserving the woods tone and resonance.
The neck is riftsawn maple carved to a ’60-style Oval C profile with a 9.5″ radius 3A rosewood fingerboard, clay-dot inlays, a bone nut, and 21 narrowtall 6105 frets. Electronics are three Custom Shop handwound ’60’63 Strat pickups with a reversewound/reversepolarity middle pickup for hum cancellation, wired via Vintage Modified #2 harness with a ToneSaver bleed circuit, fiveway switch and a threeply mintgreen pickguard. Hardware includes a Custom Shop vintagesynchronized tremolo, vintagestyle tuners, wing string tree with tall metal spacer, and it ships in a deluxe hardshell case with strap and certificate of authenticity.
